Dreamnight

The idea, which began in Rotterdam Zoo in 1996 as “Dreamnight at the Zoo” for 175 children with cancer, has since spread all over the world. Today, almost 300 zoos, spread over all five continents, participate in the project and welcome more than a quarter of a million children each time.

The first Friday evening in June is also a special evening at the Bern Animal Park. Every year, this evening is reserved exclusively for disabled and chronically ill children, their siblings and parents.

Especially for this evening, a programme tailored to the needs of the invited families is organised and carried out by the staff of the Education and Experience Section. An unforgettable evening for both the hosts and the guests. Numerous feedbacks show that the families particularly appreciate not being conspicuous with their child for once, but being able to discover the zoo animal world among like-minded people.

Participation in the Dreamnight is by invitation only. If you have any questions, please contact Cornelia Mainini, Head of Education and Experience Section (Tel. +41 31 321 15 26).
