Mangrove

The mangrove represents a section of an ecosystem on tropical and subtropical coastlines and estuaries. It is determined by the salt-tolerant, evergreen tree and shrub species mangrove plant. With its stilt roots, this forms the habitat with hiding places, food sources and reproduction opportunities for the aquatic animals. On the other hand, the reduced salinity of the brackish water as well as a tidal change based on the natural rhythm of high and low tide are decisive for the mangrove.

The facility was built and opened in early 2014.
