Frequently asked questions about the BearPark
See what the bears felt like in the old days!
Bears used to be kept in the small bear pit. Now it is open to visitors. Children can climb around on the wooden bears and the sandstone blocks. For adults, there is a wealth of information on the history of the bear pit and news about the Dählhölzli and the BearPark.
Every day, a ranger is available to answer any questions visitors may have about the bears of Bern. They work voluntarily for the Bern Tierpark and are recognisable because of their Tierpark uniforms.
There are public toilets in the ‘Altes Tramdepot’ restaurant building.
The inclined lift connects the Aare promenade with the visitors’ path near the restaurant. It is available to everybody, free of charge.
