Animal Park Association Bern

The Animal Park Association Bern actively contributes to the further development of the Bern Animal Park in the field of species-appropriate and nature-oriented animal husbandry. At the same time, the aim of the association is to sensitise as many people as possible to the protection of nature and species. It promotes knowledge about biodiversity and the interrelationships in nature.

A community since 1930

More than 8000 members form the basis of the Friends of Bern Animal Park. Since its foundation in 1930, more than 20 million Swiss francs have been invested in the Bern Animal Park in the form of contributions to new facilities, zoo schools and PR services. The Animal Park Association Bern is presided over by Sergio Zanelli and supervised by a five-member board of directors, who make their extensive know-how available free of charge.

The association magazine UHU

With a circulation of 15000 copies, the free club magazine of the Bern Animal Park is widely distributed and at the same time very popular. In four issues per year, every member of the association is informed about the life of the association as well as about changes in the zoo. The UHU is sent by post to members of the Animal Park Association Bern as well as to sponsors of an animal at Dählhölzli Zoo.
