You can walk to the zoo along the Aare from Bern main station in about 30 minutes. Take the “Marzili Bähnli” via the “Kleine Schanze” or walk down to the Aare. 15 minutes later you pass the Schönausteg and then you see our children’s zoo.
There are only a limited number of parking spaces available around the zoo.
Parking permits for the blue zone are available from the Bernmobil ticket machines. There is a central parking meter for the normal parking spaces.
There are 2 disabled parking spaces at the Dählhölzli Restaurant and the Tierpark bus stop area is wheelchair accessible. At the entrance, wheelchairs for visitors with mobility impairments can be borrowed free of charge at the ticket office for a deposit of CHF 50. Accompanying persons of mobility-impaired persons who cannot visit the Bern Animal Park without assistance are admitted free of charge. Most of the zoo is wheelchair accessible.
You can reach the zoo from the main station, including the walk, in about 20 minutes. The journey time from Bern main station to the stop Bern, Tierpark is about 8 minutes. There is no need to change trains. The zoo is about 700 metres from the stop. The path via Thormannstrasse leads through a short section of forest to the Tierparkweg. Leave the Tierparkweg after about 500 metres to the right. You will come to a metal gate which must be opened by hand. After 200 metres you will reach the entrance with the ticket office. Obstacles are usually easy to recognise.
